For this assignment I wanted to focus on grids. At first I wasn’t sure how to incorporate grids in nature but then I realized that when people are photographing or taking video it is important to be aware of where your subject(s) are within the photo. One way this is done is through grids overlaid on the image of interest. In this photo I wanted to capture the trees becoming more bare as fall progresses to winter. “By marking space into numerous equal units the grid makes the entire space page open for use; the edges become as important as the center”(115, Lupton and Phillips). I think this quote perfectly encapsulates what I was going for in this photograph.
